Good morning everyone!
Today is most definitely a sunshine and lollipops post kind of day!
What's new with us:
First and most important and exciting! Mr. M got a job! Yes!
M is currently working towards his eCommerce degree and wanted to get his foot in the door with a local credit union which is one of the top seventy-five employers... (in Canada I believe). This place has excellent benefits and employee lending/banking programs, so M applied for a base position and went in for a group interview. However upon much thought and consideration, we knew that without him getting a second job this position wasn't going to be ideal. Upon entering his second interview he made it clear to the HR woman that in order to make ends meet and pay his mortgage he would have to get a second job and wasn't entirely sure that he could make it work as it was listed as a part time hour job. She explained most people applying for this position only wanted part time hours but the full time hours are available if he would like them, and he could certainly come in Saturday's for extra shifts. Michael left the interview feeling really good; she called several hours later offering him a position above what he applied for as well as a higher salary.
YAY!!
One of the benefits of this employer is that they will pay for your schooling (providing you pass and agree to stay on with them for a year); this is excellent seeing as we are debating getting a student loan for his next year right now.
M still is currently on WCB, but those benefits will cut off as soon as he starts his job, he's very excited (as am I) to finally cut ties with them. He starts mid-June.
Ahhh - sigh of relief. I absolutely cannot wait for this next chapter of our life to begin. M finally gets to start moving on again. He cannot wait to be back to work and providing for us again that doesn't involve staying at home, physiotherapy or psychologist appointments.
I'm actually pretty happy today too because he's been gone fishing for a week now up North so I will be a very happy camper tonight!
Hope you all have a wonderful day!

It's been awhile...
Hi Blogworld!
Holy smokes, the events that you have missed!
First of all, I would love to say March 15th came and went without incident. But it didn't.
Here's the run down:
I stayed home that morning and cleaned the house, decided to go into work for the afternoon because Michael was busy anyway.
We went to go out for supper with our roommate and my sister, we were cut off by a pickup truck in my car and t-boned them, totalling off my car. The people in the other vehicle were totally un-harmed and completely at fault.
Now you may think by this statement that I drive (sorry, drove) a crappy little car if it can be totalled by t-boning someone. However, I drove a very nice mid-price range car with hardly any kilometers on it (yes, KMs, I live in Canada); but we were travelling on a 60km/hr road when they cut us off.
Michael needed four stitches in the back of his head, my sister and I came out with fat lips and bruises however my sister did break a blood vessel in her hand. Our roommate got the worst of it requiring forty stitches on her forehead, ten being on the sub-dermal level.
All things considered, we are very, very lucky. I was more concerned about Michael's emotional/mental state from this accident being on the same day as his terrible accident last year. But he was so strong, and is dealing with it very, very well.
We got more than we paid for, for my vehicle from the insurance company, so we have decided to pay off my vehicle loan and share our truck for a few months, putting the remainder of the insurance money towards the truck and concentrating our efforts on paying off the truck as quickly as possible before buying me a new vehicle. This way we only have one vehicle payment, which will be much less than Michael's truck is and we can share it. Michael can then proceed to pay off some more of our debt and by the end of the summer with the exception of my vehicle and our mortgage we will be debt free. Yay for that!
In other news, Michael is officially done WCB sanctioned physiotherapy and will either be going to school or getting a job right away. Which is excellent for him, he is absolutely itching to get out of the house and get back to work. The weather is finally starting to get nice again here and the last of the snow is finally disappearing. I absolutely cannot wait to get out in the yard again. We were barbecuing last night and discussing fertilizing the yard as well as spending the extra money to dog proof it for this year. We can't wait to spend the evenings outside again playing fetch with the pups.
Sidenote: Dog proofing would only work for Charlie (our dachshund), you can never truly dog proof a yard for a husky. Unless you had some sort of zoo exhibit yard. However, we would like Charlie and Grace to be able to roam the yard and stay outside so we'll put in our best effort.
Well, that seems like a long enough entry, congratulations if you're still reading! Can't wait until Easter, heading up to the biggest City in the province next to us with my parents for some rest, relaxation and fun!
Hope you all have a happy Easter!

One Year.. Holding My Breath
Hi everyone;
This coming Thursday is the one year anniversary of Michael's accident.
Although, I don't want to think of it like that, I don't want to think of it as an anniversary. Hopefully next year it will just be another day.
I'm taking the day off to be with him, hopefully get our passports done (his is expired, mine was stolen) and keep out minds off of everything.
Our lives were completely turned upside down a year ago, and we are different people.
And for now, were holding our breaths.
So anxious to move on, but treading water in place. Were waiting. We need to wait and see what WCB will tell us, whether they will pay for schooling or if Michael will go back into the work force.
I would never wish my time away, I'm thoroughly enjoying this part of my life, being in our twenties still able to go out on the weekends with our friends, no one is married yet, no babies in our group of friends yet... But were all on the brink. And I'm so ready for that next step...
Until then I'll continue to hold my breath. Whatever is in store, we'll face it together.
Have a great week everyone;
Alex <3

Some Days...
A giant tabby pees on the mat at the bottom of the stairs.
A small black cat flicks kitty litter on everything within ten feet.
A teenie tiny dog pees on his blanket.
A big dog with one blue eye and one brown eye chews on her dog house and gets splinters everywhere on the deck.
You forget about garbage day and the garbage bin is already almost overflowing. (From forgetting it the week previous as well).
But Some Days.
That tabby crawls into bed with you at two in the morning, his purr motor going just lookin' for love. And you can't help it you love on him, pull him closer and give him kisses because he really is the best tabby ever.
That small black kitty greets you at your bedroom door, gets picked up like a baby and pets your face purring ever so loudly; in the quiet, first few minutes of your morning.
That teeny tiny puppy knows exactly what to do when he goes outside and happily trots back in staring up at you, tail wagging because he knows he did right.
That big dog sits down ever so quietly, laying her head against your knee, letting you kiss her nose and stroke her face, absolutely adoring your attention.
You don't mind the garbage bin, after all, it's just garbage and you had more important things to do, like petting kitties and getting in one extra good-bye kiss before work.

Travelling Bug
Eek, I haven't posted in FOREVER.
This morning I have the travelling bug. I want to get up way too early, pack suitcases, sit in airports and drink coffee, touch down to somewhere new, totally different and exotic, or even touchdown to somewhere achingly familiar where people you love are waiting for you at the arrival gate to wrap you up in love and happy tears.
I can't even remind myself of all of the downfalls of travelling this morning, it doesn't matter I just want to go.
That being said I can't go anywhere until the end of July.
Although I do get to go to the "City" at the end of April for a night, I suppose I'll just have to be contented with that.
M update - Michael is doing alot better, had ACL surgery in January and is recovering nicely. Is starting back into WCB covered tertiary treatment on Friday *le sigh of relief*. He has a job opportunity that he's calling about today that were both very, very excited for. So anyone who is out there, fingers crossed and prayers please! Also, it was his 23rd birthday last week! He had a boys weekend in Edmonton and I threw him a surprise party and it was excellent! Custom batman cake and the whole nine yards. Our friends did an awesome job setting up and being sneaky!
Charlie update - He's soooo stinkin' cute! House training is going okay. He no longer has number one accidents at OUR house, our being the key word, anyone elses's house is fair game. He only has number two accidents occasionally. It's frustrating some days because Grace had house training down in a week or two and we've had Charlie for a month and a half now.
Me update - I'm good! Have some family issues going on right now but nothing that can't be over come. Going back to yoga tonight for the first time in three weeks which I know will kick my butt. Can't WAIT to get out in the garden again, I thought I might be lucky this year and get out a few weeks early but mother nature dumped a half foot of snow on us this past weekend to make up for the complete lack of it throughout this winter.
Hope you all had a great weekend, and enjoy your week!

Learning about one another
Some interesting questions I found on a blog and decided to answer them myself!
1. Who was your first crush? Kindergarten, I had a little boyfriend we used to walk everywhere holding hands. He was the biggest boy in the class and I was the smallest girl, his name was Matthew Pike.
2. Where do you see yourself in five years? Be honest.
In five years I will be twenty seven going on twenty eight... That's crazy to think about! I see Michael and I married with one possibly two babies. Hopefully living in our second or third house and owning one as an income property. I would ideally like to be a stay at home Mommy as well.
3. If you could travel to one country for a week, where would you go, and where would you want to stay?
I know I've been there before but I would go back to Great Britain, I love it there. Where would I want to stay?? Hmm, ideally Windsor Castle!!
4. When are you happiest?
When it's just Michael and I laughing and talking, having a really good conversation or playing with our fur babies.
5. When was the last time you cried?
About a month ago. I will not elaborate.
6. Mountains or Beach?
The beach because it always reminds me of home. I'm an ocean gal.
7. If you had unlimited money, which store would you visit first?
Ohmygoodess. I have no idea! I would loovee to go to Gucci or Prada or Louis Vuitton!
8. What is your favorite quote or verse?
Oh my, there are many too many.
9. If you could wake up tomorrow with a new talent, which would you choose?
Probably the ability to somehow be an amazing cook.
10. If you could have any zoo animal as a pet, which would you choose?
A tiger or a lion! I love cats. Or a giraffe. I love those too!

Breathe In. And Out.
I honestly don't have the motivation to write here today. I don't know what it is.
Ok I do.
I'm grouchy.
I paid off my visa today with some of my savings. I have been saving for our wedding. However I have been informed that someone still has some growing up to do before we get married. (And it isn't me).
So in a very impulse move I paid off my visa out of my savings account because I was mad and figured I don't need it anyway.
And now I wish I hadn't.
I'm being extremely childish about that whole thing (on the inside, I told M I completely understand, because I do).
I've lost sight lately of my rose coloured glasses. I've been tired, I'm getting a cold, I'm not appreciating things as much. I need to take some deep breaths, breathe in all of the good vibes, breathe out all of the negativity.
In keeping with that here are ten things that make me happy right now:
1. Charlie our dachshund. He's hilarious, adorable and a total Mama's boy.
2. M started physio again today, we do have to pay out of pocket for it, which sucks, but it guarantees us being back into tertiary physio therapy in time for WCB's deadline. He had a great physio session and his knee feels a lot better.
3. It's warming up! We had a nice week of minus thirty and now it's warming up and supposed to be +5 by tomorrow!!
4. Tims drink - Large white hot chocolate with a chai tea bag. Best.thing.ever.
5. Getting geared up to do my spring cleaning. Yes I realize that it's January... But I LOVE spring cleaning because I'm OCD like that.
6. Funny sticky notes from my little sister that she drew when she visited me at work.
7. Yoga with two of my best friends tonight.
8. The smell of my dryer sheets out in the yard when I'm doing laundry. It makes our house seem like lavender vanilla naturally seeps out of it.
9. Valentines Day is coming! <3 The universal day to be gushy and lovey dovey.
10. Friends, family and everyone who cares for me, even when I act a little bit spoiled.
Everyone have a good week, slow down, breathe, enjoy life.

Happy New Year!
Hi everyone!
Wow this post is really late, and I realize I haven't posted in a month so I'll make it a run down.
Christmas:
Was excellent!
We had Christmas Eve and Christmas at our house. We played Trivial Pursuit, lazed around, opened presents, played with new "toys", (my favourite being my new coffee machine), annoyed kitties by trying to love them up and overall ate waaayyy too much.
New Years:
We went to a "formal" New Year's party at our friend S&J's house, it was so much fun. I ended up changing into a summer dress halfway through the night because it was much to hot after all the dance partying. My sister and our new roommate came and I think they had an excellent time.
Now:
I'm back to work, which again, I am thankful that I have a job that I love that I actually could go back without too too much whining and trepidation like most people after the holidays.
We got a new puppy! He's a red dacshund named Charlie. He's about three pounds and absolutely hilarious. I love him to bits. Yes that gives us a grand total of four pets!
*side rant - I HATE when people think it's their place to criticize/give their input on the number of animals you have. I mean obviously these people must be experts right? Never mind that all of your pets (excepting the baby), are fixed, shots up to date, well groomed, well fed, walked every second day, loved to bits and pieces and have a big house to run around (so much so that we only see the cats a few times a day).
Ahem. Sorry, just had to get that out of my system. Oh and yes, my house is very clean, it's actually been commented upon that unless you knew there were animals there you would never even guess we had any.
Back to Now:
I actually only have a three day work week this week as Michael has surgery on Thursday morning. Please keep him in your thoughts/prayers this week as he gets his ACL replaced (again).
Everyone have a great week, enjoy every moment and drink it all in.
